First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 16, 2026 · Updated 28 times

Summary

This study aimed to see if adding an anti-reflux procedure (Nissen fundoplication) to standard sleeve gastrectomy helps control acid reflux better than sleeve gastrectomy alone in people with severe obesity. Only 2 people took part before the study was stopped early, so no reliable results were obtained. The study was designed for adults with a BMI of 35 or higher and related health problems.
