First seen Jan 10, 2026 · Last updated Jun 13, 2026 · Updated 20 times

Summary

This study tested a non-drug, non-device treatment called myofunctional therapy for people with mild to moderate sleep apnea. Instead of using a CPAP machine at night, participants did specific tongue and throat exercises during the day. The goal was to see if these exercises could improve breathing during sleep and reduce daytime sleepiness. The study involved 209 adults and compared the exercise group to a group that did inactive exercises.
