Summary
This study was designed to look at how tiny energy-producing parts of cells (mitochondria) in the liver might be linked to fatty liver disease in people with obesity who were scheduled for weight-loss surgery. Researchers planned to take small liver samples during surgery to study these connections. However, the study was withdrawn before enrolling any participants, so no findings are available.
