Milk may hold key to stopping diabetes in surprising group
NCT ID NCT06513026
Summary
This study is testing if drinking regular milk can help prevent type 2 diabetes in adults who are lactose intolerant and have pre-diabetes. Researchers will enroll 40 participants to drink either lactose-containing or lactose-free milk for 12 weeks. The goal is to see if the milk changes gut bacteria and improves blood sugar control, based on an earlier observation that milk drinkers with lactose intolerance had a lower diabetes risk.
