New hope for stent pain: muscle relaxant may beat bladder drug
NCT ID NCT05100017
First seen May 01, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026
Summary
This study compares two drugs—methocarbamol (a muscle relaxant) and oxybutynin (a bladder relaxant)—to see which better eases pain and discomfort from ureteral stents placed after kidney stone surgery. About 126 adults aged 18–80 who have a stent after ureteroscopy will take one of the study drugs plus standard pain relievers. The goal is to find a more effective option with fewer side effects.
