Sleep hormone vs. nerve pill: which eases surgery pain better?
NCT ID NCT07344467
Summary
This study is testing whether melatonin (a natural sleep hormone) or pregabalin (a prescription nerve pain medication) works better to reduce pain and anxiety after spine surgery. Researchers will give one of these pills to 105 adults having elective spine surgery and measure their pain, anxiety, and sleep quality for three days after the operation. The goal is to find a safer, more effective way to help patients recover comfortably.
