First seen Nov 10, 2025 · Last updated Apr 28, 2026 · Updated 18 times

Summary

This study tests whether a surgical procedure called lymphovenous bypass, done before lymph node removal, can prevent lymphedema (chronic arm swelling) in people with breast cancer or melanoma. About 252 participants will be followed to see if the bypass reduces the chance of swelling compared to standard surgery alone. The goal is to stop lymphedema before it starts.
