New Long-Acting numbing shot could ease pain after major abdominal surgery
NCT ID NCT07667439
First seen Jun 27, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests whether a long-acting numbing drug (liposomal bupivacaine) can reduce pain for up to 72 hours after open upper abdominal surgery. 148 adults having liver, stomach, or pancreatic surgery will get either the long-acting drug plus standard numbing, or standard numbing alone. The goal is to see if the long-acting version provides better and safer pain relief.
