Summary
This study tests whether a numbing injection around the knee (genicular block) given before total knee replacement surgery can lower pain and reduce the need for morphine afterward. About 44 adults having a first-time knee replacement will take part. Half will get the injection; the other half will not. Both groups can receive morphine as needed. Researchers will measure pain scores and total morphine use over the first two days after surgery.
