Which knee implant is best for obese women? new study aims to find out
NCT ID NCT06019832
First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated Jun 12, 2026 · Updated 31 times
Summary
This study looks at 54 obese women who had knee replacement surgery to see if using a stemmed implant (with a long rod) helps prevent the bone from collapsing or the implant from loosening compared to a non-stemmed implant. The goal is to learn which design works better for heavier patients. No new treatment is being tested—only existing data is reviewed.
