Chill out after knee surgery: could cooling be the key to less pain?

NCT ID NCT07416721

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study looks at whether cooling the knee after total knee replacement surgery can help reduce pain and improve early recovery. About 99 adults having knee replacement will be randomly assigned to receive cooling with a special bandage, an ice pack, or standard care without cooling. The study will measure pain levels, painkiller use, swelling, and how long people stay in the hospital to see if cooling offers extra benefits.
