NCT ID NCT07446296
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests whether a 12-week home-based exercise program is safe and practical for adults aged 60 and older who are waiting for a kidney transplant. Participants will either receive usual care plus a physical activity tracker, or usual care plus the tracker and online exercise classes. The goal is to see if the program improves physical function and daily activity, and if people find it acceptable and easy to follow.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- home-based exercise program with physical activity tracker
- What this could lead to
- If successful, this could show that a remote exercise program is a safe and feasible way to help people on the kidney transplant waiting list improve their physical function and daily activity.
- What could go wrong
- This is a small, early feasibility study with only 60 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The program relies on participants having internet access and motivation to exercise at home.
