Scientists investigate if kidney stone sufferers produce excess oxalate

NCT ID NCT06989320

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study aims to find out if people who get calcium oxalate kidney stones produce more oxalate in their bodies than healthy people. Researchers will compare 80 adults—some with a history of stones and some without—after they eat a special low-oxalate diet and take small amounts of glycolate and vitamin C. Participants will provide urine, blood, stool, and breath samples over several days to measure oxalate production.
