First seen Feb 24, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 12 times

Summary

This study looked at whether measuring a protein called S100B in the blood right after a first seizure can help predict if someone will have more seizures within a year. Researchers enrolled 37 adults who had their first seizure less than 24 hours earlier. The goal was to find a simple blood test that could guide treatment decisions, but the study was ended early.
