Nasal spray could slash postpartum depression risk in new moms

Summary

This study tests a nasal spray combining esketamine and dexmedetomidine to prevent postpartum depression in pregnant women with mild depressive symptoms. About 164 women will receive either the spray or a placebo during childbirth. The goal is to see if the combination reduces depression rates 42 days after birth while minimizing side effects.
