Can ancient ayurveda help cancer survivors? new study tests feasibility
NCT ID NCT06633926
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Aug 04, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study looks at whether two different health programs are practical and acceptable for women who have finished treatment for early-stage breast cancer. One program combines nutrition advice, lifestyle changes, yoga, and therapeutic touch (Ayurveda). The other is a self-guided online health education program. The goal is to see if survivors will join, stay in, and complete these programs, not to measure health outcomes. About 106 participants will be randomly assigned to one of the two programs.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- Ayurveda intervention (nutrition education, lifestyle counseling, yoga, therapeutic touch) and health education program
- What this could lead to
- If successful, this could show that integrative approaches like Ayurveda are practical and acceptable for cancer survivors, paving the way for larger studies on their benefits.
- What could go wrong
- This is a small, early feasibility study, not designed to test if the interventions actually improve health. Results may not apply to all survivors, and participants might not find the programs acceptable or easy to follow.
