Summary
This study aimed to see if a single 45-minute dose of inhaled nitrous oxide (laughing gas) could quickly reduce suicidal thoughts and depression in people visiting the emergency department. It was designed for adults aged 18-65 with major depressive disorder who were actively suicidal. The study was withdrawn before enrolling any participants, so no results are available.
