NCT ID NCT06961110
First seen Jun 27, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests whether drinking hydrogen-rich water can make a 4-week weight loss retreat more effective for overweight and obese teens. Sixty adolescents will be randomly assigned to get either hydrogen water or plain water, while all follow the same retreat program. Researchers will measure changes in body composition, fitness, insulin sensitivity, and markers of inflammation and stress.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only โ not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- hydrogen-rich water
- What this could lead to
- If it works, this could point toward a simple, safe supplement to help teens lose weight more effectively during a structured program.
- What could go wrong
- This is a small, early-stage trial with only 60 participants. The supplement may show no extra benefit over the retreat alone, and results may not apply to all teens.
