New gel dressing aims to heal stubborn leg wounds
NCT ID NCT07335861
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jul 01, 2026 · Updated 3 times
Summary
This study tests a special wound dressing called Hyalomatrix, made from hyaluronic acid, to see if it helps heal chronic venous leg ulcers faster than standard care alone. About 122 adults with leg ulcers that haven't healed for at least 4 weeks will take part. The main goal is to see if more wounds close completely within 12 weeks using the new dressing.

Hyalomatrix (a hyaluronic acid-based wound dressing)
What this could lead to
If it works, this could provide a new, effective option to help heal stubborn leg ulcers faster.
What could go wrong
This is a relatively small, early-stage trial. The device may not heal ulcers better than standard care alone, and results may not apply to all patients.
