New study aims to uncover hidden stomach issues in GAVE patients

NCT ID NCT06306963

First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study looks at how common stomach symptoms like pain and nausea are in people with Gastric Antral Vascular Ectasia (GAVE), a condition where stomach blood vessels enlarge and may bleed. Researchers will use a simple breath test done at home to check how well the stomach empties. The goal is to learn more about how these symptoms relate to stomach function, which could improve future care.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

What this could lead to

If successful, this study could help doctors better understand and manage stomach symptoms in people with GAVE.

What could go wrong

This is a small, observational study with only 30 participants, so findings may not apply to everyone with GAVE. It does not test a new treatment.
