Summary
This clinical trial investigates whether two existing medications, allopurinol and atorvastatin, can help prevent serious complications in people with stable liver cirrhosis. The study will compare these drugs against a placebo to see if they reduce the number of acute decompensation events—such as fluid accumulation, bleeding, or infections—and improve survival and quality of life. Adults aged 18 to 75 with stable cirrhosis are eligible to participate.
