First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 09, 2026 · Updated 16 times

Summary

This study tested whether including fathers in parenting support during pregnancy and the first year of life can help prevent childhood obesity and improve health for the whole family. Researchers enrolled 657 parents from diverse backgrounds and randomly assigned them to either a special father-inclusive program or standard care. The goal was to see if this approach could reduce rapid infant weight gain and support healthier eating, sleep, and activity habits.
