Scientists probe why Weight-Loss drugs slow digestion
NCT ID NCT07225816
Summary
This study aims to understand how fasting and temporarily stopping popular GLP-1 weight-loss medications affect how quickly food leaves the stomach. It will involve 75 people with obesity who are already taking specific doses of liraglutide or semaglutide. Researchers will use ultrasound scans to measure stomach contents after participants eat a high-fat meal and follow different fasting schedules.
