New study tests extra ablation targets to stop A-Fib recurrence

NCT ID NCT07197931

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests if burning extra spots outside the main heart veins can better control persistent atrial fibrillation (a type of irregular heartbeat). About 406 adults having their first ablation will be split into two groups: one gets standard vein isolation, the other gets additional trigger ablation. The goal is to see which approach reduces the return of arrhythmia over time.
