Summary

This trial tests whether combining a minimally invasive heart valve repair (TEER) with an electrical shock to restore normal heart rhythm (cardioversion) can improve outcomes for people with severe mitral regurgitation and atrial fibrillation. Participants who have already had a successful TEER will be randomly assigned to also receive cardioversion during the same procedure or to receive standard care alone. The study will track whether the combined approach reduces the chance of death, heart failure hospitalizations, or stroke within a year.
