Summary
This trial compares two blood thinners, edoxaban and apixaban, in people who have both atrial fibrillation (an irregular heartbeat) and coronary artery disease (narrowed heart arteries). Both drugs help prevent blood clots, but they are taken differently and may have different risks of bleeding. The study will see if edoxaban is at least as good as apixaban at preventing a combined set of serious events, including death, heart attack, stroke, and major bleeding. About 3,000 adults with these conditions will be randomly assigned to take one of the two medications.
