NCT ID NCT07298798
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study compares two exercise programs—closed kinetic chain exercises and isometric exercises—to see which better reduces pain and improves function in women aged 35-60 with patellofemoral pain syndrome and knee osteoarthritis. Seventy participants will be randomly assigned to one of two groups and will exercise for 4 weeks. Researchers will measure pain levels and daily function using standard scales.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
exercise (closed kinetic chain and isometric exercises)
What this could lead to
If successful, this could show that specific exercises are more effective for reducing knee pain and improving daily function in women with osteoarthritis.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage trial with only 70 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The exercises may not provide lasting relief beyond the 4-week study period.
