New endoscopic procedure could offer relief for liver patients with stubborn confusion

Summary

This study tests a new procedure using an endoscope to block abnormal blood vessels in the liver that can cause confusion in people with cirrhosis. The goal is to see if this procedure is safe and can reduce episodes of severe confusion better than standard medications alone. About 34 adults with liver cirrhosis who still have confusion despite taking two types of medicine will take part.
