No-Radiation lung scanner tested on kids with chronic breathing issues

NCT ID NCT03797183

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study is testing a device called Electrical Impedance Tomography (EIT) that uses electrodes to create images of the lungs without radiation. Researchers want to see if it can provide useful information about lung function in children with chronic respiratory diseases, including premature infants with bronchopulmonary dysplasia and those with neuromuscular disorders. Participants will undergo EIT imaging during standard care procedures. The goal is to understand how well EIT works in these populations, not to provide a treatment.
