Blood filter shows promise for sudden liver failure patients
NCT ID NCT07178366
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 05, 2026 · Updated 25 times
Summary
This study tests a blood-filtering therapy called DPMAS in people with acute-on-chronic liver failure, a life-threatening condition where the liver suddenly stops working. About 56 adults will be randomly assigned to receive either standard care alone or standard care plus DPMAS, which removes toxins from the blood. The goal is to see if DPMAS improves liver function and survival without needing a transplant.
