Summary

This study tested whether a heart medication called dobutamine improves outcomes for patients with septic shock who need surgery under general anesthesia. Septic shock causes dangerously low blood pressure, and anesthesia can further weaken the heart. The study involved 584 adults and measured kidney injury, organ failure, and death rates. Results are not yet available.
