First seen Jan 23, 2026 · Last updated Jun 18, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This study is testing a procedure called duodenal mucosal resurfacing (DMR) to see if it can safely improve blood sugar control in people with type 2 diabetes who are not on insulin. About 18 adults will be randomly assigned to receive DMR or a sham (fake) procedure. The study will also look at whether a second DMR treatment 24 weeks later provides additional benefit.
