Smartphone surveys could replace paper forms for knee surgery Follow-Up
NCT ID NCT04752761
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study compares two ways of tracking recovery after knee replacement surgery: traditional paper questionnaires filled out at the clinic versus digital surveys sent to a patient's smartphone. Researchers will enroll 50 adults aged 18-78 who own a smartphone, tablet, or computer. The goal is to see if patients are more likely to complete digital surveys on time and whether the results match those from paper forms.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
What this could lead to
If successful, this could show that digital surveys are a reliable and convenient way to monitor recovery after knee replacement, potentially replacing paper forms.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage study (50 people) comparing two survey methods, not testing a new treatment. It may not prove that digital surveys work for everyone or improve health outcomes.
