NCT ID NCT04227379
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This completed study tested whether a customizable texting program could help veterans with type 2 diabetes improve their blood sugar control. 366 veterans were randomly assigned to receive either standard daily diabetes texts or a more interactive version with check-ins, medication reminders, and optional modules. The goal was to see if the enhanced texting program led to better blood sugar levels over six months.

What this could lead to
If successful, this approach could provide a low-cost, scalable way to help people with diabetes better manage their blood sugar levels.
What could go wrong
