Scientists hunt for biological clues to match patients with best depression treatments

NCT ID NCT04480918

Summary

This study aims to identify biological markers that predict how well different brain stimulation and medication treatments work for severe depression and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). Researchers will collect data from 1,000 patients receiving treatments like electroconvulsive therapy (ECT), magnetic brain stimulation (TMS), or ketamine. The goal is to eventually help doctors personalize treatment by matching each patient with the therapy most likely to help them based on their individual biology.
