First seen Jan 19, 2026 · Last updated Jun 12, 2026 · Updated 18 times

Summary

This study tested whether dapagliflozin, a drug typically used for diabetes, can slow kidney decline, improve anemia, and protect the heart in 100 adults with chronic kidney disease who do not have diabetes. Participants took either the drug or a placebo daily for 12 months alongside their usual care. The goal is to find new ways to manage kidney disease and its complications without relying on diabetes treatments.
