Can common heart drugs prevent artery blockage in diabetes?
NCT ID NCT06402747
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study compares two medications, clopidogrel and cilostazol, to see if they can slow down the buildup of plaque in the neck arteries of people with type 2 diabetes. The goal is to prevent future heart attacks and strokes. About 120 adults with diabetes and early signs of artery thickening will take one of the drugs for a period, and researchers will measure changes in artery thickness and blood flow.
