First seen Apr 17, 2026 · Last updated May 08, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This study tests a drug called cenobamate to quickly stop frequent seizures or ongoing seizure emergencies (status epilepticus) in intensive care patients. Ten adults aged 18-70 who have many seizures per hour will receive the drug while being closely monitored. The main goals are to see if the drug reaches a target level in the blood and helps stop seizures within 24 hours. Safety checks will watch for a rare but serious allergic reaction called DRESS syndrome.
