First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 16, 2026 · Updated 29 times

Summary

This study looks at whether cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) can help veterans with serious mental illness, like schizophrenia or bipolar disorder, who also have chronic low back pain. About 190 veterans will take part to see if CBT improves their daily functioning, quality of life, and pain levels. The goal is to find a non-drug way to manage pain in this often-overlooked group.
