Can yoga ease the pain of endometriosis after surgery?
NCT ID NCT07765680
First seen Aug 14, 2026 ยท Last updated Aug 14, 2026
Summary
This trial tests whether adding a structured yoga therapy program to standard surgery for endometriosis can reduce chronic pain and improve quality of life. About 188 women scheduled for endometriosis surgery will either receive standard care alone or standard care plus 32 guided yoga sessions (16 before and 16 after surgery). Researchers will track pain, quality of life, sleep, mood, and other outcomes for up to a year after surgery to see if yoga makes a meaningful difference.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only โ not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- Structured perioperative yoga therapy programme (32 guided sessions) plus standard surgical management
- What this could lead to
- If effective, this could offer a non-drug way to reduce pain and improve quality of life for women after endometriosis surgery.
- What could go wrong
- The trial is relatively small and the benefit may be modest. Results depend on participants sticking with the yoga program, and pain relief may not be significant.
