Brazilian study to reveal how well medical cannabis really works in daily life

NCT ID NCT07362407

First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This observational study will follow 384 patients in Brazil who are using cannabis-based products (like CBD or THC oils) prescribed by their own doctors for chronic pain, anxiety, or depression. Researchers will not provide the medication but will track patients' quality of life, symptoms, and side effects over 6 months through online questionnaires. The goal is to gather real-world evidence on the benefits and risks of cannabinoid therapy to help guide safer medical decisions.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

cannabis-based products (CBD or THC oils, extracts, or isolates)

What this could lead to

If successful, this study could provide doctors and health authorities in Brazil with reliable data on how well cannabis-based treatments work in everyday life for chronic pain, anxiety, and depression.

What could go wrong

This is an observational study, not a controlled trial, so results may be influenced by factors like patient expectations or other treatments. It also only tracks patients for 6 months, so long-term effects remain unknown.
