Your grocery receipt could hold a cancer clue
NCT ID NCT06447064
Summary
This study aims to see if changes in what people buy—like pain relief or digestive aids—can serve as an early warning sign for certain cancers. Researchers will compare the shopping history of 1,450 recently diagnosed cancer patients with 1,450 people without cancer, using up to six years of Tesco or Boots loyalty card data. The goal is to find patterns that might help spot cancer earlier, encouraging people to see a doctor sooner.
