Can music and an AI app shield new mothers from postnatal depression?
NCT ID NCT07773259
First seen Aug 19, 2026 · Last updated Aug 19, 2026
Summary
This trial tests whether a collaborative psychological model—combining daily music listening, a smartphone app with AI chatbot support and mindfulness exercises, telephone check-ins, and wearable monitoring—can reduce the risk of postnatal depression and persistent pain after childbirth. Around 2,000 women giving birth at a single hospital will be randomly assigned to receive this program or standard care, with partners also invited to participate. The study measures depression scores and pain at 8 weeks postpartum to see if the digital toolkit makes a meaningful difference.
