New shot for IBS-D shows promise in Mid-Stage trial

Summary
This study tests an experimental drug called brenipatide for adults with irritable bowel syndrome with diarrhea (IBS-D). About 531 participants will receive either the drug or a placebo as a shot under the skin. The goal is to see if it safely reduces daily abdominal pain and improves stool consistency over about 35 weeks.
