Simple breathing and relaxation techniques may ease recovery after heart surgery

NCT ID NCT07542691

First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tests whether combining breathing exercises with progressive muscle relaxation can reduce shortness of breath, anxiety, and delirium in patients recovering from heart surgery. 116 adults will be randomly assigned to either receive these techniques plus standard care, or standard care alone, for 30 minutes daily over three days. The goal is to see if this simple approach improves recovery and reduces complications.
