Arm cuff therapy tested to help brain heal after ruptured aneurysm
NCT ID NCT06819657
Summary
This study is testing if a simple, non-invasive treatment can help people recover better after a life-threatening brain bleed caused by a burst aneurysm. The treatment involves repeatedly inflating and deflating a blood pressure cuff on the arm or leg, which may trigger the body's natural protective responses. Researchers will see if this 'remote conditioning' is safe and can reduce complications and improve neurological function in 40 patients who have had surgery to repair their aneurysm.
