New combo therapy targets hidden cancer cells in colorectal patients

NCT ID NCT07227636

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether two drugs, botensilimab and balstilimab, can clear remaining cancer DNA in people with colorectal cancer who still have signs of disease after standard treatments like surgery and chemotherapy. About 284 adults with a specific type of colorectal cancer (MSS) will receive the drug combination, then balstilimab alone. The goal is to see if this approach can eliminate hidden cancer cells and prevent the cancer from coming back.
