Can a simple blood pressure adjustment save kidneys in deadly shock?
NCT ID NCT04281277
Summary
This study investigated whether adjusting blood pressure targets could help protect kidney function in patients with septic shock, a life-threatening condition. Researchers tested if raising a patient's average blood pressure from a standard target to a higher one would improve a specific measure of kidney blood flow and lead to better kidney outcomes. They enrolled 80 critically ill adults to compare the effects of these two different blood pressure goals on kidney health over the first week of treatment.
