New training cuts fall risk and sharpens mind for stroke survivors

NCT ID NCT07328867

Summary

This study tested a special exercise program designed to help people who have had a stroke. It combined two types of training: one to improve balance by simulating trips and slips, and another to practice walking while doing a mental task. The goal was to see if this combined approach could reduce the risk of falling and improve memory and thinking skills better than balance training alone. Thirty-three stroke survivors participated in the six-week program.
