Simple doctor alert could prevent deadly pregnancy complication
NCT ID NCT07614893
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests whether notifying obstetric clinicians when a pregnant patient is at high risk for preeclampsia increases the use of low-dose aspirin, which can help prevent the condition. Researchers will compare clinics that receive these alerts to those that continue usual care. The goal is to improve prevention of a leading cause of pregnancy-related illness and death.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
clinician notification (behavioral intervention)
What this could lead to
If successful, this could increase the use of low-dose aspirin to prevent preeclampsia in high-risk pregnancies, reducing maternal illness and death.
What could go wrong
This is an implementation trial, not testing a new drug. It may not change doctor behavior significantly, and aspirin use still depends on individual clinical judgment.
